Italy holds a pre-eminent role in the story of baroque music as we know it. New techniques and genres, as well as composers themselves spread from Italy across Europe in waves with each successive generation throughout the baroque era. Our first concert this season follows these Iberian trends and trend setters and the interchange between two cultural capitols: Venice and Amsterdam. Including music by Vivaldi, Vitali, and Rossi.
